What we process, and why
Postmortem analyzes publicly available chess games to produce improvement analytics. For account holders we store one piece of personal data: your email address, used solely for sign-in links and account notices. We do not run ads and we do not sell data.
Processors
- Hetzner (hosting, EU)
- PostHog (product analytics, EU region)
- Stripe (payments, when billing launches)
- Our transactional email provider (sign-in links, account notices)
Retention
Accounts inactive for 24 months receive a warning email; the account and its data are deleted 30 days later unless you sign in again. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, or export your data first.
If you don't have an account
Public game archives may include games you played against Postmortem users. We process this public data under legitimate interest to provide opponent context — a summary of our assessment is available on request. If you'd rather we didn't, you can remove and block your username at any time.
